Job Description

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to market and position group funeral & life cover products at existing and potential Employer Groups that will enable business growth, profitability and sustainability of Group Schemes. The person is further responsible to conduct market research and provide guidance in terms of current and future business opportunities for group schemes & individual life.

Job Outputs:

  • Identify new employer groups for implementation (new business development)
  • Develop and implement customer service strategies and identify gaps in the processes
  • Identify, build and maintain strong relationships with participating Employer Group stakeholders
  • Initiate and co-ordinate promotional/social events with identified stakeholders including internal parties that will ensure a consistent brand experience
  • Organize, prepare and execute training, presentations and/or meetings with participating employer groups and/or unions in support of relationship building
  • Market positioning by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Researching organization’s and individuals to find new business opportunities
  • Increasing the product portfolio of current members while attracting new ones
  • Penetration of markets with the aim to increase sales
  • Closing of new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations


  • Grade 12
  • Regulatory Exam for Representatives (RE1)
  • Regulatory Exam for Key Individuals (RE5)
  • FSCA recognised qualification on NQF level 5
  • Marketing/Public Relations qualification is an advantage
  • Computer literacy (MS office)


  • Minimum 3-5 years’ sales experience in B2B
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ operational experience in Relationship Management
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Employee Benefits
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Funeral Schemes
